I had a few places I had to go to this morning. On my way back to my apartment, I stopped by this traffic light (it was red btw) to my left is this restaurant/bar that many people from the university go to regularly. Between the two streets, the street I was on and the street the restaurant is on, stood a woman wearing nothing but her bikini holding up a sign that said that this restaurant was holding an outdoor barbeque tonight @7.
Did they really have to let this poor women out in the middle of the day, standing on the street holding up a sign, wearing nothing but her bikini? It was 30 degrees (C) outside, it was hot in American standards.
That is so degrading. Having a women wear that just to attract attention to some barbeque is a shame. It is one of countless examples that people use women to advertise for something that has nothing to do with their bodies! (check out Godaddy.com’s Superbowl commercials here). There is this ad for ecko unltd shoes (I couldn’t find the ad online) where they are advertising a normal sport shoe, with a woman wearing a bikini crawling on the floor while the shoe is wrapped with gold barbwire. The commercial has nothing to do with the shoe!

I totally agree with you Yazeed.. Using women like that is a total disgrace and a shame.. It is degrading to women to use them like this..
But I have to mention that any women stupid enough to be persuaded to do that does actually deserve to be degraded.. I know that sounds stupid but “come on”.. Why would a women do that to herself..
On the other hand, don’t forget that in advertising “sex sells”..
I seriously condemn it..
It’s sad the lengths people would go to to objectify women, man…

The question is, why are guys so easily manipulated just by the sight of a woman’s semi nude body? The answer is not just “testosterone” because men have brains ansd souls and are not slaves to their hormones….or should NOT be that is…
I see it two ways: yes, the woman is degrading herself - but she is part of the manipulation and knows it. She will get money to buy herself bread. She used what she had to pay her rent. Therefore, she is part of the power scheme over men.
But it is the MEN who allow themselves to be degraded by allowing and being influenced by this, because the overlooked inherent subliminal message is : DUDES, YOU HAVE NO SELF CONTROL, YOU ARE RULED BY YOUR TESTOSTERONE AND ARE A TOTAL SUCKER.
