Wallahi we were so happy about it .. and mashallah 3laik ya yazeed you summed it up by saying ‘.. they beat off countries with “better” football programs, like England and Holland ..’
Well said, and congratulations .. it’s a grand victory that may open up new horizons for Saudi football .. specially about the money spending issues .. this amazing ‘disabled’ team didn’t even wear sport brand apparel! no Puma or Adidas sponsoring or all the media fuss for them .. yet they did what was unexpected from them and won .. and thats enough for me i guess
I read the archives of online newspapers, to get more info on the team and the way the media percived it.
Its funny that they only got interested when Saudi beat england (4-1 i belive).
But after they won it, I can see through the arcticles and editorials how everybody is proud, and they should be!
