my advice: detach yourself from the situation. when a muslim brings attention to the wrongdoing of another muslim, it doesn’t help.
you have nothing to do with this, and what the pakistani has done shouldn’t reflect poorly on you or any other muslim. if people choose to believe it does, then that is a result of their short-sightedness, and little to do with musims:-)
this “asshole” has not ruined my day as a muslim, because i can still go out there and make a difference for the positive.
Very well said there (The Grenadine). The world is filled with assholes and their actions should not impact our standing because of our association to them on a certain level (religious, compatriot, etc.).
Unfortunately, it seems that due to all this one-sided attention to ‘terrorism’, we Muslims are quick to fall on the backfoot (not pointing at you here, Yazeez).

The US media of course have a field day with this, and then they blame all Muslims for this.. and then they Justify Israel even more, and then Fox News says that multiple synygogs have been hit by rocket launchers from muslims in the states.. then Fox news all says Iran and every other country is invading Israel so they must shoot everyone! boom!
Rightly said Yazeez. But we do not have control over the way the western media chooses to project us. There’s always going to be bad apples (on any side) and if they choose to focus on them as a reflection of our character as Muslims then that is their bias. IMO we have to strenghthen ourselves and our media and ensure the other side of the story is also told. Of course; easier said than done.

we are a 1.2 billion (muslim population) and we got one of the fastest growing relegions in the world, if not the fastest, but we dont have any back bone support, no media coverage, not in TV, press, publishing, nothing. I am sure that if a couple of the arab world’s billionaires chip in some pocket change, they can set up a TV channel, a couple of newspapers, and other ways of getting our view across in the places that “matter”
instead, they are too busy flooding us with music channels in our own land.
