Super Sunday!

Huge day, football wise (both footballs :P)

First off its Chelsea vs. Liverpool. Both teams played in the Charity Shield, a little over a month ago, and Liverpool emerged victorious in an exciting game that ended 2-1.

chelesvsliverpool.jpg

Chelsea welcome back Arjen Robben, who missed out on all their league games this season. Robben was hot during the World Cup if you remember. Will he have the same impact for this game? Joe Cole is out of this game, he played in the last ten minutes of Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Werder Bremen in the Champions League a few days ago, but he is still not ready to start, he missed all of Chelsea’s games this season after getting a knee injury in the preseason.

Liverpool have an almost full squad. John Arne Riise is still out with an injury though. Rafa Benitez has a some selection problems in defense. Will Agger play or will Rafa will stick with his back four. Upfront he has to choose between Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler, and Kuyt.

All in all this should be a really entertaining match. Chelsea want to seek revenge over the Charity Shield defeat, Liverpool want to make up for the 3-0 loss against Everton last week. Kick off is at 8.30 am my time, so I need to wake up very early to catch this one, I hope I do :P

arsenalvsmanutd.jpgAt 11 am its Manchester United vs. Arsenal! Huge game, always entertaining, and always controversial. Both teams dominated English football before a certain Russian Billionaire bought a London club, and poured in ridiculous amounts of money. This match might not be as big as it was before, on an international scale that is, but fans of both teams still see this as the match they want their team to win.

Christiano Ronaldo returns for this match after missing out on the Champions League win against Celtic (3-2) due to suspension. Ryan Giggs, who is on form right now, is out on an injury that he suffered against Celtic. He is out for three weeks at least. Park Ji-Sung is also out from a knee injury (3 months). Nemanja Vidic and Alan Smith are back in the squad.

Arsenal are in a serious injury crisis. Theirry Henry and Robin van Persie are doubtful. Henry missed the Champions League win against Hamburg, due to an injury that he suffered while on international duty with France against Italy, he played through it against Middelsborough, but its gotten worse during the week. Van Persie suffered an injury during the Hamburg game. Kolo Toure also suffered an injury during that game, but he should be OK for tomorrow’s game. Philippe Senderos (shoulder), Gael Clichy (foot), Lauren (knee) and Abou Diaby (ankle) are all around four to six weeks away from a return.

Lets see if this match lives up to its expectations. Arsenal have their worse start in their history of the Premier League. They drew 2 games and lost one game. Manchester have played 4 (Arsenal played 3 games) and won all four. They are the only team with a 100% record. A win for Arsenal is Vital.

panthersatvikings.jpgAfter all that football (the real football), then the NFL starts. At 1 pm its the Panthers at the Minnesota Vikings. Steve Smith didnt travel with the team, so thats not good news. Hopefully the team can turn things around cause last time they pretty much sucked. At 4.15 its the Patriots vs. the NY Giants, also a very good game. Big day tomorrow. Thank god I have finished all my homework and I can actually say that I have nothing tomorrow except to watch these matches :D

PS: I miss writing these reports. World Cup Fever was not enough :P

im soooooo pissed off because im not gonna be able to watch arsenal vs man u because i have work and i couldnt take it off. i feel that this match would either be a dull 0-0 match or an explosive one. arsenal really need to win this game or they r fucked in this start of this season. i am kinda nervous about arsenal’s back four with kolo toure not 100%, gallas is not playing in his favourite position, djouro was usually a third choice defender after cambell and sendaros, but aboue is good. i hope clishy will be back asap so gallas and toure would be erfect in center with the backing of sendros… now that would be a solid defense, if only flamini stayed at left back we would have been fine but i guess he doesnt like it their. our midfield and attack should be fine even wid henry out but i tink van persie can make it. i woul say the main pressure would be on the midfield which id say is very strong.
ouf thats a loooong response, im pretty bored and i cant sleep yet:P

p.s. yazeed i cant believe u watch american football, that shit sucks. sorry no offense

Well HAnman, why not get a freelivefooty.com subscription and watch it during work :P, if you have a fast internet connection that is, 1.5mb should be good.
I agree the defense doesnt look that good. I cant wait till sanderos comes back and also clichy (both did really well last year, and sanderos looked very well in the world cup too). The midfield looks good and even though the attack will probably be without henry, they are lethal too. I hope Abedoyor and Baptista play upfront, both are strong and can give problems to Manchester’s questionable defense, they let in some easy goals against Celtic.
Like what you said, its either a dull 0-0, or a very exciting game. I cant wait.

about american football, well my father is a huge san diego fan. so i started watching football with him way back. we would always stay up and watch the superbowl every year. its not that bad, i am not going to tell you that its amazing, but its entertainable, plus the panthers are my team since before i came to charlotte, so thats a plus. in any sport, even golf, if you are rooting for a certain side, you will enjoy their games. but the panthers will never replace my beloved gooners!
i’m trying to go to bed too so that I could watch the games tommorow :P good luck tommorow.

thnx for da quick response, unfortunatly i work in a restaurent(Olive Garden) so i dont have time watch it on my laptop and even if i try they would fire my ass :P
about american football, if u put it this way then i respect that, my dad was a football fan too when he was in the US i think he cheered da dolphins or somthin, but i just never got into it, although it look entertain i would prefer to watch wrestling or ufc over that plus the name of the game just make it more fucked up to me, calling a game football where u barely touch da ball wid ur feet, while callin da real football, soccer now wat da fuck is that :P
anyways have a goodnight w nshalla arsenal wins 2moro

      HAnman,
where u do u live exactly? I know nothing about you, even though you comment here a lot. :P
if it wasnt for my father, i would probably would not watch football, plus its a really big thing here in the states and you live it, everything is about football here. when i first arrived here back in January, the panthers made the playoffs so everything was about football here in Charlotte, plus it was fun going out and watching the games in restaurants and sports bars during that time, which made me get into it even more.

      ya m3awad NFL! :P
i too will wake up at 8:25am to watch chelsea. i will be cheering for them. i hope lampard will give a better performance than last time and give us a nice free kick or a long pass towards goal :D but i wont be cheering for terry.. he’s a basa.

MAN UNITED WOOHOOOOOOO!! :D:D:D:D cant wait to see ronaldo back again. so smithy will fill giggs’ place? but is he fit enough to actually play? he broke his freakin leg! mashalla fast healer :P i hope rooney is back to normal.. he was shit in the champs league game (p.s. that game was AWESOME :D)

but.. even though i hate arsenal, i would like to see walcott play.. JUST so i can get a glimps of the future of the england national team.. i still cant believe becks is out.. he’s old okay but he is still fit and can still kick any other defensive midfielder’s ass :| mclaren is an ass and terry is gonna suck as captain.. he already sucks in the first place anyway..

so cheers yazeed and enjoy tomorrow morning.. or today morning? :| 3al 3moom.. me sleep now so i can wake up in 4 hours and 10 minutes :D

Hahahahhahahahaha!! The kids did well today for Arsenal!

Finally a well deserved win! The whole team takes credit for that!

One problem though, we won 3 games this seaon, and all 3 r the games Henry missed, its kinda worrying!

    10. Gravatar Icon 10 Yazeed Sep 17th, 2006 at 1:48 pm

      Q,
      nice point,
      scary point.
but we did well today, this team is starting to get better and better.
Interesting thing that this arsenal team only had 4 players from the first team at arsenal 2 or 3 years ago, its a totally new team.
Lehman, Gilberto and Toure are the only “old” players. Eboue, Djorou, Gallas, Fabs, Rosicky, Helb, Adebayor, baptista, flamini are all the new arsenal.
i dont think any team can go through that big of a change in the small amount of time, and still preform well.

      3ash Wenger wallah

yo YAZEED, salaam. i must say, not too shabby of a site, looks nice. i took abdullah out for his b-day last night; told the people working at the restaurant to sing happy b-day to him..haha, it was awesome..you should of came out with us..but alas, you’re too cool to hang out w/ us lowly folk. insha’Allah one day, i’ll attain your level of coolness.

yea sooo, the panthers suck; we’re a bunch of scrubs. we’ve got one of the deepest teams in the league; but nothing to show for it so far..how sad. My only hope is based on last year, we sucked at the beginning of last season too..but ended being one game away from the super bowl..so i’m crossing my fingers this season.

alright man, i just wanted to drop you a line and say wassup; i’ll come by the place soon i’A. take it easy stud. peace.

P.S. for any chicks reading this..just to let you know..yazeed’s a champ. holler.
