First of all I am not a fan of the show. A friend asked me if I have seen it last night, and I said no, he’s like good. I asked him why? He said that it was insulting and that he turned it off after 3 minutes. I asked why? He said its cause they were talking about the Prophet Cartoon and that they were gonna show it, so he turned it off. He asked me if it was “Haram” to watch it. Akeed its haram. So I told him I was going to download it and see what exactly happens. I took a dive for the rest of you, or so I thought.
The episode starts off with everybody freaking out and going to this gym, for shelter. Then you find out why. Its because Family Guy (another cartoon show) was going to air an episode in which they air a cartoon about the prophet. Sort of? like a cartoon in a cartoon. Everybody was freaking out, and then they show some footage of Al Thawahiri (which they say was Zarqawi) from Al Jazeera, threatening the US or something. El mohem, when they finally air the episode they censored the part where the Prophet shows up. Its confusing to read, I know, but read this paragraph again:)
Anyways, some people were like relaxed cause the “Muslim terrorists” are not coming, and some people brought up the whole freedom of speech thing.
What really pissed me off was the next day (after the episode aired) the south park characters are in school and their gay teacher was teaching them about Muslim sensitivity. Here is what he says and I quote:
Its important to us to understand why the Muslims feel the way they do, and why we cant show an image of Mohammad.
Lets all look at why Muslims are upset.:
First of all in the Muslim religion you’re not allowed to have sex. This would be fine, except in the Muslim religion you also cant jack off, it is strictly forbidden in the Muslim religion. And what do we know about the places Muslims live? They live in sand.
Now put yourself in the shows of a Muslim. Its Friday night, but you cant have sex, and you cant jack off. There is sand in your eyes and probably in the crack of your ass. And then some cartoon comes along from a country where people are getting laid, and mocks your prophet. You know what? I’d be pretty pissed off too.
Thank you writers of South Park, you flatter me. I dont really remember qi63a 13, or any Arab cartoon, making fun of Americans. That is so ignorant, I just cant believe that they would sink this low, and take such low punch. They know how to hit us where it hurts. When will it all end?
There is a second part of this episode on TV next week, where the Family Guy writers threaten to quit the show if their network censors the Prophet cartoon again. In the preview, Bush shows up to tell the network president to censor the cartoon, but the network president says he cant and tell him “I think you should know something about one of the writers”. I’ll wait and see what happens in it.

That’s hilarious. I can’t believe you’re not laughing at that. Oh, and by you saying “they know how to hit us where it hurts,” you’re implying that their portrayal of Muslims and Islam is an accurate one, and it isn’t. Get a grip.
man seriously there is something wrong with you if u think that there is something is wrong with me
dude, lighten up. bad(er) is right, it simply perpetuates the stereotype if you dont rise above it. ( bad(er) is also right cos it was funny as hell:P).
what do you think the wests image of the muslim world was before the cartoon fiasco?
i would say the reactions confirmed their views.
you dont wantthem to make fun of you but you blame all the worlds ills on the west and america.
its time the muslim world grew up ffs.
i wast talking about about the way muslims all over the world reacted over the cartoons, i disagree with the whole burning up flags, buildings and everything
what upsets me is how we became such a mockery
Most of the so called muslims back in kuwait any other western country can’t do much because America controls their country indirectly through certain channels.Look at kuwait ,uae and other arab countries where you have american troops for the safety of the country.Common look the army of these countries is not good enough to protect the country from foreign threat. The only thing we have to consider here we all have to be united to eradicate these stereotypes. I mean calling some one hindi ,masri or using derogatory terms for someone is not doing to do us any good. Most of us will not like it if somebody targets our religion. So its a wise idea to not target other ethnicities. We are all helpless as simple as that.
hey moe, i dont know why you went completely off topic
america controlling gulf countries has nothing to do with this post,
its true that we stereotype other ethnicities, but thats not the topic too, but we dont target or make fun of other religions, which in my view is much worse than being a racist.
LOL, get used to it guys. You know we can’t afford to boycott America. Besides, the drawing, if it was shown, is shown in a cartoon and not a newspaper. I think that’s a world of a difference considering the mediums. If you think about, this is not the first time South Park takes a “cheap shot” at Muslims or any other religion. They made fun of the Jews, almost in every episode thanks to Kyle. The reason why, I believe, South Park or any other white-trash-comedy oriented cartoon takes cheap shots at other religions is because they are running out of ideas to flavor their shows. Well, why in our religion’s expense? Just think about it, all this boycotting and extreme anger towards any negativity that touches our religion is really funny to them, not the just the South Park guys, but the whole West in general. I think our extreme behavior towards these stupid things really need to be boycotted first!
btw Yazood, it’s not 7aram to watch it, it’s 7aram to do it.
yo tukhain, the haram part was for watching the actual cartoon of the prophet,
if u cant draw him, i watching his drawings on purpose maybe, is just as bad
what my friend thought, cause he only watched 3 mins of it, that they were actually gonna make fun of the prophet, and he guessed that they would be even worse than the danes.
oo ba3dain who talked about boycotting america?
i agree that the muslims reacted in an extreme way, we have nothing better to do, oo tara the west know shit about what happened, atleast americans, who are the most ignorant people when it comes to non-american news, i would say that only a fraction of them actually know about what happened, and if the cartoons thing wasnt mentioned on jay leno or letterman, then taqreeban no one would know about it. man some of them have never heard about saudi arabia or kuwait! thats how bad it is
kuwait after the iraq war, il mafrooth they know about it, and saudi after all the 9/11 shit and the anti saudi propaganda in the states, still i meet people who have never heard about saudi
i get so desperate trying to explain it i am like “u know the country where 15 of the 9/11 hijackers came from” they are like no idea, i am like it is because of saudi that you have high gas prices, still no idea, then my last chance is bin laden, their response “isint he afghani?”
wil moshkilla like every night in the news they have something.
oh i forgot to say that they would learn about more from south park than their news
welcome to ignorant America my friend, where the world is right in your TV screen,LOL! You know something, I knew people that didn’t even leave their own fuckin state, thats how bad it is. I remember when I went to visit Boss in California, we took some of our Michigan friends with us and to my surprise two of them never left Michigan…EVER! Not even to another state in their united states!!! Talk about culture shock, when they saw all the Latinos in LA. You know something, it is a good thing that we got to actually see how ignorant most of that society is first hand.
BTW, if anybody really feels insulted about anything that has been shown on TV, tell your local mosque or university counselor to right a letter to the network. Believe me, you’ll get something. Let’s just hope it’s not a pun in one of their cartoons though!
In all fairness, South Park makes fun of EVERYTHING!
There is no religion or ideology left untouched. In fact, its a running gag that Cartman ripes on Kyle for being Jewish on just about every single episode. As a Jew, I think it is hilarious!
And the episode where a statue of the virgin marry bleeds out of her ass on the pope was also a tad disrespectful. Not to mention the fake Christian rock band song “I want to get down on my knees and start worshiping Jesus. I want to feel his salvation all over my face” could be taken the wrong way.
And regarding the Islamic world’s not ridiculing the west, that is not quite true. For example, the 43-part series “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” on Egyptian TV (syndicated to several countries) was a tad harsh on jews… in all fairness, not all of us kill Christian babies and use their blood for our matzah. Well, I do.. but I am not fond of horse-radish and can’t stand dry matzah
Bud, that “protocols of the Elders of Zion” is a documentary and not a cartoon or a caricature in a major newspaper. It’s one thing to produce a comic or grotesque represantation of a religion in these two mediums because you have to consider the potentail audience. While documentaries are appealing to a selective audience, mainstream cartoons and major newspapers have a world level audience. Even though I havent seen that documentary myself, I always question the producer and see the obvious favoritism in the production. There are a lot of bad documentaries out there that depict our religions in manners not suitable to our believes. Everybody can make a documentary about whatever. What I’m trying to say is that when someone watches a cartoon like South Park, a pun about a religion is very random and usually the viewer does not expect it. In a newspaper, the majority pick the paper for what news it has to offer but they seldomly get surprised by a caricature that depicts a religion in a grotesque manner. These are all surprise “sneak attacks” or “cheap shots” that catch the audience ungaurded and the result is usually anger. Now watching a documentary is a whole other thing compared to the previous mediums. You know what your getting yourself into and that you would probably not be as offended compared to “cheap shots” in a cartoon or newspaper. We all hate mockery towards our respected religions. Thats why I get really upset when my religion becomes a victim of a “cheap shot” to flavor a cartoon or newspaper, and I think the feeling is mutual.
exactly tukhaim (next time use the same name:)),
and about the “documentary” it was on like 3 or 4 years ago, and i think it was based on some kind of book, not really sure about that, but to be fair it was made during the intifada, when the whole arab world were sympathizing with the palestinians against the israelis, plus it wasnt shown in many tv channels
i think it was only shown in local Egyptian tv, and the channel that is backed by hizb allah (i forgot its name)
i personally did not see it nor did i read about it, it made the news while in production, but when ramadhan came it went all quiet,
and you jordanR, i dont know where u from exactly as the ur name tells me that you are from a certain place that i dont belive has any jews, but i would bet that on Israeli tv they show bad stuff about arabs.

LOL omg thats sick funny lol. I imagine the sound of that gay teacher lol allah ya5theh.
I’m sorry to say that Yazeed, but I’m looking forward to see it. They don’t seem to be making fun of the religion itself.
dude, even though i’m totally against the depiction of the prophet in any way, you have to say that they weren’t doing anything bad with the prophet. he was just standing there. they depicted him as a superhero. he even had fire powers.
