Well I have been here for 2 months now almost. Its better than what I thought it would be, much better. Its a really nice city, beautiful actually. The university is very nice too, its big, around 25,000 students I think, and well maintained. I live right across from the university so I usually jaywalk to school everyday, unless there university cops around, they’re strict when it comes to jaywalking.
Anyways Charlotte, aka The Queen City, has a lot of businesses headquarters here, and its growing very fast, its one of the fastest growing cities in America. There are over 2 million people who live in or around the city. Its also the 2nd financial center in America, after New York. Over 300 of the Fortune 500 Companies are represented here.
Charlotte is home to the Carolina Panthers (football), Charlotte Bobcats (NBA, they suck), Charlotte Sting (WNBA), and the Coca Cola 600 (NASCAR, actually 90% of NASCAR teams are located here, and they will soon build a NASCAR Hall of Fame here). I dont know why Americans like NASCAR, they are crazy about it, and I dont see anything special about it, its like a low class Formula 1, and all they do is drive in one large oval. When NASCAR comes to town, there are like 100,000+ tourists who come here on weekend the races are on.
A nice number of Arabs are here. There are like 5 mosques, more than 10 arabic supermarkets, and atleast 3 arab resturants (4 falafils for $2.99 !!!!!).
The weather is very nice here too. This week we got amazing weather, the kind of weather we only dream of back home, I cant belive that I was wearing shorts today, even though it was like 18 degrees out (Celsius), I dont think I have ever seen anyone back home wearing shorts when its 18 degrees. Today was the hottest 18 degrees weather I have ever lived to see :). The only downside, atleast to me, is that it rains a lot, its not like Seattle, but we usually get 2-3 rainy days a week here. Its light rain so doest bother me, but for some reason I hate rain.

yeaahh….good weather is the shit! I remember back when I was in Michigan, I’d be walking for about 45 minutes to a bus stop. Now in MIchigan, we usually got a shitload of snow during this time also! So I’d probably be walking through a feet or two of snow…it’s ok, I couldn’t feel my feet anyways!!! But the spring over there was simply amazing…I hate snow!
It’s been almost two years since I’ve been out of this greenhouse affected country called Kuwait. The only place I went to during these past two years was Dubai, bu zlayqa land. Just in case no one knows what that means, imagine a soggy rash haunting your nuts due to the humidity!
Anyways, I just felt like typing and flooding your site with my BS. Looks like your having fun taking pictures like a Japanese tourist! I were you pal, I’d go to WRESTLEMANIA or watch RAW live!
