I? just read an article that two tall buildings in Qatar, I wouldn’t call them skyscrapers (is
there an Arabic word for skyscrapers?), in the? past 3 months have been in major fires. Both buildings were badly damaged. These were major fires that span on almost most of the floors of these buildings. Is the real estate boom in Qatar going too fast? Seems like everything in the Gulf that grows, grows fast!
A specialist had his say in both cases and he blamed the relaxed regulations in Qatar and the ignorance to safety concerns by the owners.
There is another building that collapsed during the renovations that were going on the Ramada Hotel.
Seems someone is trying a little bit too hard. Maybe they should ease down a little bit. We Arabs, especially Gulfeners :), sometimes get over excited and think with our hearts not our minds.
