Funny thing is that this Alaskan Congressman (republican) tried to get a $230 million to fund the construction of a bridge that would connect an island with a population of 50, yes FIVE ZERO, to the mainland. I remember seeing a report about it on 60 minutes on mbc4 a few months back.

A big waste, the Alaska project. I lived in Alaska for 2 years, most people in small villages get to the area they need to go by using a boat or driving over the frozen water in the winter.
