With all respect to the victims of Virginia Tech and to their families I do not support that day of blog silence.
I’m sad for the victims of Virginia Tech, but I’m much sad for those victims whom nobody cares about.
I can read well, I know that this day is meant to support all victims around the world, but why don’t the world remember to support its victims when Iraqis or Palestinians die???
Iraqis are killed every day, yesterday about 200 Iraqis was killed, today almost no one in the world remembers them.
At the BBC’s world news front page, you’ll find nothing talking about those 200 Iraqis, but two articles talking about Virginia Tech attack…

Again I’m sad for all victims around the world including Virginia’s, but it seems that we are so cheap in the eyes of the world.

ДншдЬ, I totally agree with you. It seems that the world is so selective when it comes to showing support or solidarity. I am not going to mention Iraq and Palestine since no body cares about them here in Kuwait (what a sad and tragic state of afairs we reached), but what about the victims of Katrina in the US, the tsunami in south Asia, the war in Somalia, the famine in Mali,….etc

I did enough silence at the candle lit 3azza (vigil) today at school.

False: “I am not going to mention Iraq and Palestine since no body cares about them here in Kuwait” you cant generalize!

nQ, I am glad that you think differently! You are right: I should not generalize. Thanks for your input, and for correcting me.
