Keep The Streak Going

Arsenal 3-0 Watford

Six wins in a row (in all competitions, 4 in a row in the league), took Arsenal up to 4th place. There were fears that the long international break, with 15 players leaving Arsenal to play with their countries, will have its toll on the unity of the team. Looking back over the years, Arsenal has always looked rusty after international breaks.

walcott_theo060825a.jpgToday was Theo’s first game as a starter, what a performance from this guy! He did an amazing job a few days ago for England U-21’s scoring twice against Germany to give England a place in the Euro U-21 tournament next summer (watch highlights of that match here). Theo did extremely well, he played in the left flank of the midfield, and did well with Fabregas, he didn’t look like a young kid playing his first start for a team, he’s only 17, what will he look like when he’s 20!

Arsenal did well, winning the match 3-0 (even Theo had a few chances). First goal was an own goal by Stewart, second goal was scored after a good run by Henry, the third goal was scored by Abedayor after another run by Henry who unselfishly passed it towards Abedayor and Hleb, even though he could have easily scored it, it was probably easier to score than to pass.

Liverpool drew with Blackburn, Manchester beat Wigan 3-1 after being 1-0 down at halftime, Chelsea won 1-0 against Reading, but lost both goalkeepers and saw John Terry playing as a keeper :P They face Barcelona on Wednesday and might have to play their third choice keeper for that match, did Barca have something to do with the injuries to both keepers?

Goals:

  1. Arsenal’s First
  2. Arsenal’s Second
  3. Arsenal’s Third
  4. Wigan 1-0 Manchester United (my favorite goal today)
  5. Wigan 1-1 Manchester United
  6. Wigan 1-2 Manchester United
  7. Wigan 1-3 Manchester United
  8. Liverpool 0-1 Blackburn (nice)
  9. Liverpool 1-1 Blackburn

…oh and Madrid lost, to Getafe!

      Hopefully you are right
they are playing the best football around
Manchester look shaky at times, but they are the best of the bunch (not including arsenal)
chelsea dont look that leathal, hopefully it stays that way.
Liverpool look lost, Rafa needs to stop playing around!

Hopefully we’ll take the Uefa Champs League, and the EPL!
