Hurricane Betting

The National Hurricane Center in the US released the names of this season’s hurricanes. They alternate male and female names in alphabetical order, and if the major storms reach the last letter, the go into the Greek alphabet. If a storm causes major damage, i.e Katrina, the name is retired.

Anywas the funny thing is that some betting agencies (whatever they’re called) are placing odds on which hurricane name will cause the most damage!

Even though its immoral, my bet is on Isaac and Nadine, I think they would be a catchy name for the news :P

      lol!

right after 9/11 there was talk of the government setting up a terrorism futures exchange.
just like gold/oil/orange juice, which have been pretty accurate at spotting global trends regarding supply / demand and weather etc,… the terrorism exchange was meant to predict the next location and or date of an attack.
eg, after 9/11 london contracts would have gone up so most likely would be in london etc ( although that wasnt the case :P)

i think they also wanted to try and catch anyone that might have insider knowledge. apparently the week before 9/11 there was a very big increase in sellers of airlines, which some attribute to an alleged al qaeda account.

needless to say the public didnt think a terrosism exchange was in good taste :P
