Highbury: Farewell to The Home of Football

Arsenal played their last game at Highbury today. A magnificent 4-2 win against Wigan in the last day of the premiership to clinch 4th place. Henry, captain, scored a hatrick is his last appearance at The Home of Football.

There is simply something special about the place.Something you will never be able to reproduce anywhere. The Gunners moved from Woolwich to take up home at Highbury 93 years ago.

Henry has loved the place since signing from Juventus in August 1999.My wish was to attend the game, but I am still in the middle of my finals, so obviously I couldnt have made it. Its been the Home of Arsenal for 93 years. There is a farewell ceremony the is being held as I write this post. The stadium is packed, fans holding up? red and white strips all around the stadium. The fans, the players, everyone, loves this place, its very emotional for some people. I wish I had the chance to visit it.In August Arsenal will be moving in to their new home, Emirates Stadium. Probably the best Stadium in Europe at the time of its opening.Farewell Highbury, you have been a good home. Hopefully Emirates Stadium will a good home, I hope to make the first match at the Emirates Stadium.
