Gravatar.com (globally recognized avatar) is back in operation. Its been closed for several months now. A lot of non-blogspot blogs use it, so does mine. If you notice in the comment area, that my comments have a Saudi flag, and most people have a picture of a blank person. You can sign up for your own gravatar here.

cuz it depends on which plugin ur using, it determines what the default one is, u can create one urself too
