Do they really hate us this much???

?

2 days ago there was this demonstration in front of the Danish Consulate in Chicago, this time it was Pro Danish. You know the only reason they are doing it is because they are glad that the danish managed to find a way to piss us off this much.

? I am against what happened. First of all the danish shouldnt have posted the cartoons, and for the whole dont buy danish thing.

But Americans having a protest, holding signs supporting the danish, you know what is the reason behind this, and it just makes me sick.

Shda5lakom bil salfa?? Its between Denmark and the big ME. Typical Americans, they also find a way into other peoples business.

Would like to hear your thoughts on this (if anyone actually reads this)

This separates america from the muslims .In the muslims world, religion is not openly criticised as in the west. I think these people are forgetting that freedom of speech has limitations too. You are free to say whatever u like unless it posesss imminent danger.A person says fire fire while watching a movie in a cinema will not have the right of freedom of speech. I hate to say this but sadly we are getting a worse rap again and again. if u r in kuwait and show you are an american national ,it can certainly make the other individual impressed and will start treating you nicely. I feel ashamed of these double standards which are based on the power .

this is the reality of things, there is a double standard and they are forced to treat you better because they dont want to deal with all the problems you can throw at them. And most of these people are uneducated idiots who have no clue about whats going on outside the US. How bout we take them to other extreme and drop them off in Pakistan they have the freedom to hold these signs if they have the guts to!

yeah i agree, that they should know that free speech is not as free as they think, and it shouldnt be. there are a lot of no nos with free speech, and relegious topics should be on the top of that list, i have never ever heard any muslim, no matter how relegious they are, talk down to other relegions or make fun of them,

      marzouq
the double standard is quite normal in our society, its both parties fault.

      marzouq,
I am not sure why you are just mentioning one country here .Palestine, egypt ,libya and other muslims countries have shown an aggressive attitude towards the cartoons.

Most of cannot raise our voice, concerns about the cartoon issue. We are so helpless that we want to become like the non-muslims and have their way of life. We are in fact losers not they.

You should learn to respect all muslims .Doesn’t really matter which part of the world there are from because they worship the same Allah as you do. Allah doesnot differentiate His believers on the basis of race ,color then why should you ?

Do we have the guts to revert non-muslims to muslim ? How often do you see muslims wanna be westerners ? Do you see westerners wanna be muslims ? Its sad to see this state of our brothers all over the world.

Whether you like it or not but religion is everything for a muslim.

Part of the problem Yazeed is that the western world defines the Freedom of Expression based on what they are thinking, and then applying and exports it to the whole world. One of my college’s professors has displayed those cartoons in his class supporting the idea of freedom, but then when he asked if he would apply the same theory to “Holocaust”, he wouldn’t answer as everyone wouldn’t in America and Europe, otherwise, the jail will be the conclusion. I really would ask those folks above me in the pictures if they are willing to do the same think for the British senator who is facing three years in prison because of his speech about the “Holocaust”. American people as well Europe are not attached to their religions as Muslims, so they will keep those poor actions, but let them do them. We still have the “Right to Choice” as they claimed they have the “Freedom of Expression”.

      Good topic though Yazeed.

Freedom of speech/expression is over rated in europe and america. True that you would occiasonaly see a jesus cartoon, but i dont think they would have a contest about it, or show them in a degrading way that our prophet was shown. Its more than a matter of “freedom” its a matter of hitting us where it hurts, and they have certainly suceeded at that. No matter how we react, they will still see it as a wierd outburst on their “freedom” cause they dont really get the idea of how we are still attached to our relegion, and to them that is “backwards” thinking.

Look around you when you go back home. You’ll see that as muslim nations, our religion has been encorporated into every part of our daily lives. Even if you are not religious, you will still say things like “il7amdillah”, “bisim allah”, “masha`a allah” and so forth. You’ll even notice that alot of shops and even banks close during times of prayer, mostly duhr and 3asr. That is why the muslim world has taken offence to the pictures. We live in such close proximity to our religion that we cannot tolerate any anti-religious remarks, whether it is about Islam or any other religion.
In the western societies, USA and Europe, people on average have deviated so far from their religion. They drink when it is forbidden even in thier religion. They do drugs and have pre-marital sex, both of them forbidden. I’m not claiming that these things do not happen in our countries, they do. But not to the extent that can be seen in thier societies.
Our culture and our religion have alot of common ground. They are closely correlated. A remark against our religion is also a remark against our culture and way of life, and vice versa.
It’s a shame to think that we live in a world that allows people to degrade another person’s religion and call it free speach. We can see that people throughout history have stood up and combated things like Racism and Sexism. Now it is considered wrong to call a man of colour a “nigger”. Why is not wrong for someone to offend another persons religion? I don’t care where your from or what you believe but both are wrong and I am ashamed to live in a world where people can get away with either of them. I cannot tolerate it.

Well if we truly love our religion that much than we have to follow it strictly . Most of us say that we love Allah and His religion but our actions are not representative of our intentions.
