Damn Fire Alarm

I was happily sleeping when suddenly the fire alarm went crazy. At first I thought it was my speakers or something (hey I was sleeping) so I go and try to mute my laptop, nothing happened. Then I noticed this small flashing light coming out of the smoke detector, which is right on top of my bed ( I need to change where my bed is positioned asap), so I look around my room to see if something is on fire, it was dark (5.15am) so it was easy to spot a fire. Nothing.

So I go to the living room, everything looks normal, my roommates start to wake up, then we notice that the sound is also coming from outside, turns out the alarm for the whole building ringing. With every passing minute the sound gets to you, we cant stand it anymore, so we leave the apartment to go outside until we know whats going on. No one told me that it was 3 degrees outside!

We stay there for 15 mins until the fire trucks arrive, the building could have burned down by now, so perfect timing. There was a slight fire in one of the apartments on the third floor. It was already turned out before the Firemen (and one ugly firewoman) arrive. Then it takes the smart-asses another 10-15 mins to figure out how to turn off the main alarm. What a happy night.

I guess the extra hour of sleep that I got,? was taken away from me tonight.

Did I mention I hate cold weather?

I need to sleep, bye.

      15 Min!!

That’s way too high compared to the national average fire response time.

      Riyadh Guy,
      5 mins!
i guess the firestation is not close by. It was 15 mins if not a bit more since the alarm went out, i dont know when a call went it, but dont they come running when alarms are off.

      Flying Penguin,
fingers crossed it doesnt happen anytime soon.

      S,
      fee a7ad da3y 3alay, i think….

      Delicately Realistic,
next time, i wont even bother getting up and outside if I dont smell something in my apartment. I’ll just put some headphones on and really loud music.
