PSV 1-0 Arsenal
Well Arsenal did start the match well. The first half was almost totally Arsenal. They had the upper hand, but they didnt manage to add something to the scoreboard. The second half PSV came out a total different team than the one we saw in the first half. They managed to get the goal they wanted and did well to close down spaces on the Arsenal attack. Henry and Adebayor both had poor games, they were no where to be seen for most of the match, especially Henry, who has been disappointing lately. I just hope that they can manage to get the result they need at the Emirates in 2 weeks time.

Celtic 0-0 AC Milan
I wanted Celtic to win. They were very impressive during the group stage. I didnt get to watch the match, so I cant really say what happened during the game. I’ll post the highlights when I find them.

Lille 0-1 Manchester United
No surprises here. Looking at the goal, which was a surprise Giggs free kick, the goalkeeper was trying to get the defensive wall set up. Giggs took it quickly, much to the complaints of the Lille players afterwards. I didnt watch game, but looking at the stats, it looks like the game could have went either way.
Prediction: Manchester United to go through
Real Madrid 3-2 Bayern Munich
The score line says its all. There were more goals scored here than in the other 3 matches combined (obviously). I managed to watch the re-run after Arsenal’s match. Seems like Spanish teams cant defend, even with an Italian coach. The 2 away goals that Bayern managed to score may cost Real Madrid dearly when the second leg comes, Bayern at times looked like they were capable of a draw, and they werent that off. The stats fall in Bayern’s favour too. An exciting match, and a very good display from Beckham too, what was Capello thinking when he didnt want to play him! Beckham played a big part in all three goals. If Madrid dont step up their game in the 2nd leg, I think Bayern will make it through with not much trouble, they are a strong side to play at their home, plus Madrid’s defense is not all that, the 2nd leg should be very exciting as well.
