this has been all over the news… how is Beckham going to bring soccer to the US.. i think the only thing ppl will care about there is “What Posh is wearing?!!”, “Are Tome, Katie and the Beckhams having a family outing?!” and “When’re the latest Beckham glasses/shoes/sports gear coming out?”

too much contradiction in your last comment Yaz! etgool he’s not doing it for the money cuz he’s getting paid 1/2, yet he gets total image rights = $40M/yr .. umm, dont know about you but $40M is a lot of money to me! and of course ending your comment with: Just think of all the money if soccer… hmm! money again

if he IS doing it to attract more attention to soccer in the US then i think that’s great… soccer is definitely under-valued there!

Well I saw an interview that he did yesterday. I dont think he is doing it for the money. He is getting paid only half of what he got from madrid ($3 million a year) but he will have full control of his image rights (something he didnt have before) which can give him about $40 million a year.

He said that he choose to move now, cuz if he moved later, ppl will say that he made the move because of money. He seems like he really want to contribute to the growth of “soccer” in america.

I think if soccer hits big in the states, they will become a big big team in years to come, and their league can be one of the best. Just think of all the money if soccer in the US is considered the #1 sport there.
