Oh how much did I envy the lucky 60,128 people who were at the Emirates Stadium last night. What a memorable night, without a doubt its the most memorable night this stadium has seen so far. At the end of the match, the American commentator said “the last 10 minutes was ample proof of why the English Premiership is the best league in the world.”
With Liverpool beating Chelsea the day before, I was afraid that United will be more determined to win this match, to have a 9 point lead over the blues. But that didnt happen. The match started with both sides playing cautiously. Manchester played well in the first 10 minutes or so, then Arsenal started controlling the flow of the game, but didnt produce any dangerous chances. They should have done better with some chances. In the final 10 minutes of the first half, United started pressuring again, and if it wasnt for some good defending and some good saves from Lehman, then United would have grabbed themselves a goal.
In the second half, both teams came out attacking, thats until United grabbed a goal by Rooney in the 53rd minute. After that, Arsenal had most of the chances, but still nothing serious. As time went on, I was sure that Arsenal would grab a goal, they
havent lost a match at the Emirates, and surely they wouldn’t allow the Mancs the to have the pleasure of being the first team to win at the Emirates Stadium. They kept trying and trying to get something, but nothing came. United had a few dangerous chances, during that time. Then came Van Persie in the 70th minute, I knew he was going to score, but not from the cross that he actually scored from. It was a very acute angle. Neville was already infront of him, I didnt think he would actually get to the ball, let alone score. He just flicked into the top of the net. For the next ten minutes or so, you could hear the crowd sing, chant, shout, it was one of the loudest displays from a crowd I have ever seen on TV (Liverpool’s crowd are the loudest).
Arsenal kept trying to score a winner but nothing came through. Then in the 93rd minute the Eboue to Henry connection
was back. I really didnt think Arsenal would grab a winner. But when Eboue crossed that ball, and I saw Henry getting ready for it, I remembered the two goals that Henry has scored from Eboue crosses in that week. And it went in! The crowd went wild, you can barely hear the commentators! Arsenal came back in the dying moments of the game to turn the game around and actually win the three points, which sets them 12 points behind United with 14 games to go. Arsenal are also 6 points behind Chelsea, who have not yet paid a visit to the Emirates.
From the 4 matches that Arsenal played with the other “Big” teams, they won 3 and drew one (beat Man U twice, beat Liverpool, and Drew with Chelsea). From the kind of football we saw this week, Arsenal and Liverpool look like the teams that should be in the top two spots, not Chelsea and Man U.
Hats off to Fabregas. The guy still didnt reach 20 years of age, but is arguably the most important member of this new Arsenal team we see now. The British press are calling it Cesc’s (Fabregas) team now, not Henry’s. He can only develop into a better player. He got atleast 12-15 football years ahead of him. One can only imagine into what type of footballer he will turn into when he hits 25. Mashallah Mashallah. He was the best player on the pitch today no doubt about that.
You can find the goals and hightlights in my previous post.

you wish u were there? ya 3ami i wish i at least saw it!! yalla 3al baraka i guess :/ ronaldo ma kan imbayen?
arsenal build a team , not import stars like Real madrid
All the recognition goes to Van Persie.. he has been amazing lately as soon as he was substituted i knew that he will get the chance to score. Fabregas too has been in consistent form. His passes are successful most of the times, and he has style. And then comes the Rescuer … Henry and there is no comment. He stole the show. But its true that we haven’t seen the real Ronaldo. I simply thought that he will be the main man of the match… but there you go Arsenal win again at home and they deserve it for their hard working team. Congratulations to Arsenal !
I’m a Manchester United fan but applaud to Arsenal on this win. We will win the premiership this season anyway
Ummmmm …..
bitterly dissappointed to have lost vs the arse .. nothing else to say
unlucky I guess anyway still 6 pts clear …
“From the kind of football we saw this week, Arsenal and Liverpool look like the teams that should be in the top two spots, not Chelsea and Man U” ….. LOL!

le aresnal just buy talent they cant pruduce any their academy is pure shit and how come they call them selfs english team and yet they did not have one tha is one single english player on their first eleven and their bench how disgratful i shall never have respect for a such team.

bohamdan
well if u win it, remember that we beat u twice in the league
GB
6 points with 14 games is nothing, especially that man u still have to visit chelsea and liverpool
Pontis
dont deny it, its the truth!
Liverpool totally dominated Chelsea, and Arsenal played much better than Man U
manchesterawi
the reason why u didnt go to the game cuz u knew u guys were going to loose, oo a9lan who the hell are u going to get tickets for such a match
ok mr i hate arsenal,
when was the last time man u have produced any decent talent? forget the beckham, giggs, era, i am talking about the past few years. if buying really young ppl, having them train in your acadmeny, not developing ur own talent? what do u want to do? the arsenal academny is a huge sucess u cant deny that, its by far the best in england right now, and there are lots more players to come.
the lack of english men is purely cuz englishmen cost a lot, SWP for 22 million for example!!! its not like arsenal didnt try to sign english players, but their prices go up like crazy, and thats why they dont.
grow up, plzzz
hey sorry for the late reply
first of im a one united memebr and that mean i can get tickets to any game united play plus i know people how would get me tickest for any away united game and do you think its thats hard to get tickets for any game just go the ground before kick of and stand their and see how many offers from touts you will get for tickets it just easy.
as for local talent yeah maybe united have not produced any verygood players lately but tel me something when did arsenal acadmey producd any i can name one cashly cole thats it so much for the best academy in england, you are having a laghe just go check the reserve league talbe and see where is arsenal and check last year who was the champs of england its not arsenal. arsenal never had a good academy and by the way the best academy of englad is westham academy they produced players like fat frank laptard, rio ferdinad and his brother, joe cole, carrick and the list would go on and on and blackbun have a realy good academy.
as for english player yeah they cost a lot but tha does not mean having a first team with only 4 english players and even a reserve full of forign players at least united go for more english a british players in their first team and more in the reserve level players like pradsely who is curenlty on loan at aston villa and other i cant recall their names and i cant be arsed to search.
get your facts right before posting next time.
