An Inconvenient Truth - Truly Inspiring

incontruth2.jpgI have heard a lot about the movie since it was released, never really got a chance to see it. It has just won an Oscar for best documentary, that inspired me to finally sit my ass down and watch it.

The movie is basically a presentation with a few side notes from Al Gore himself here and there. Its not your typical documentary. I am not really a documentary type of person, but my eyes were hooked on the screen for the duration of the movie. You’ve got to really hand it to Al Gore for dedicating his life for such a huge cause, especially after what happened to him in the 2000 elections.

Al Gore puts everything nicely and in a way that everyone would understand, basically he doesnt use a lot of scientific talk, which is basically the norm with people who talk about this issue. There are a lot of interesting facts in this movie. He goes into many aspects of global warming. The icebergs that are melting by the day, the heat, the intense tropical storms, flooding, drought, the impact to the ecological system, pretty much everything you can think of.

Everyone should watch this movie. Its amazing how small changes in our daily lives can immensely decrease the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. What amazes me even more is why arent we all doing it, why arent our governments doing it? They dont seem like an expensive option. Gore wasnt calling for totally reduction of carbon, but at the rate we are increasing it right now, its very frightening to think what would this world would look like in 50 years time. One of the things that astonished me, is that the water level in the oceans could rise 20 feet in the next few decades, what is going to happen then?

This might be the most important challenge that we as humans ever faced, so please try to watch the movie, try to implement a few simple changes in your daily lives. Decrease usage of electricity, use more energy efficient light-bulbs. Reducing the temperature of your air-conditioning in the winter and raising it in the summer by as little as 2 degrees Fahrenheit can reduce a lot of carbon dioxide (as much as 2000 pounds a year per house hold!).

Dont think that you cant make a difference, cause you can.

Please visit ClimateCrisis.Org for more information about what you can do, you’d be amazed of how many things you are capable of doing.

      Al-Gore
      Yahoo!

      less-loxurious

the worst thing is that most of the media start mocking this guy when he released his movie.. which make the people don’t take it seriously..

I can’t stop laughing when I remember one of the South Park’s episode about Al Gore and his movie  .. lol those crazy south park

Thank you so much for this :)

      Atsooo,

      iTalal
      i didnt watch that :P
bas the media bugged him a lot, calling him Al Bore, but in the oscars, when he was giving his speech, many people agreed that his speech was the funniest :P

      eshda3wa,

:P let us know what u think

      Yara,

:P yeah the movie really taught me a lot, glad u enjoyed it

      Laialy_q8,
whats exaggerated? our current rate of pollution?
well everything is happening so much faster these days, and it can only go faster, population, technology, industrialization, everything is growing very rapidly, so pollution is growing too
maybe the figures arent that accurate, they are calculations after all, but our current rate is alarming, which says a lot about were they will be in the years to come
