Dont forget to vote below.
My squad choice:
Buffon (Italy), Isaksson (Sweden), Ricardo (Portugal); Mueller (Switzerland), Cannavarro (Italy), Osorio (Mexico), Senderos (Switzerland), Cafu (Brazil), Lahm (Germany), Grosso (Italy; Vieira (France), Zidane (France), Appiah (Ghana), Rosicky (Czech Republic), Figo (Portugal), Kaka (Brazil), Joe Cole (England), Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast); Saviola (Argentina), Klose (Germany), Robinho (Brazil), Dindane (Ivory Coast), Crespo (Argentina).
Before tournament I would have predicted:
Buffon (Italy), Cech (Czech Republic), van der Saar (Holland); Kolo Toure (Ivory Coast), Carvalho (Portugal), Nesta (Italy), Sagnol (France), Cafu (Brazil), Edman (Sweden), Lahm (Germany); Alonso (Spain), Rosicky (Czech Republic), Appiah (Ghana), Kranjcar (Croatia), Kaka (Brazil), Beckham (England), Joe Cole (England), Ronaldinho (Brazil); Shevchenko (Ukraine), Henry (France), Larsson (Sweden), Totti (Italy), Messi (Argentina).
My biggest snubs (in order): Juan Riquelme, David Beckham, Ronaldo and (hate to say it) Cristiano
Undeserving: Carvalho and Luca Toni
My reserve squad for players who’ve played very well but not in my 23:
Cech (Czech Republic), Lehmann (Germany), Hislop (Trinidad & Tobago); Nesta (Italy), Rozenhal (Czech Republic), Carvalho (Portugal), Grygera (Czech Republic), Heitinga (Holland), Zambrotta (Italy), Sorin (Argentina); Fabregas (Spain), Riquelme (Argentina), Pirlo (Italy), Maniche (Portugal), Joaquin (Spain), Barnetta (Switzerland), Ribery (France), Robben (Holland); Totti (Italy), Henry (France), Torres (Spain), Ronaldo (Brazil), Shevchenko (Ukraine).
Best goals so far:
1) Cambiasso Arg v Serb
2) Rosicky Cze v USA (2nd rather than 1st goal)
3) Joe Cole Eng v Swe.
Pete,
Both Rosicky’s goals were fine, they fit under arsenal’s style, so he looks like a good buy.
My first 11 would be
Buffon
Terry, thuram, lahm, and greygera
riberry, veira, zidane maniche
henry and saviola upfront (and hopefully they will be at arsenal, both fast, both quick, and henry can really complement saviola’s style.)

Hello Yazeed,
The above is a link to one of my pages and you can go to my profile to view others from there. I think Rosicky should be ace at Arsenal and Saviola may also be a great Bergkamp replecement like you say. He’s available from Barcelona so maybe Mr Wenger should invest.
My all time Arsenal 11 would be:
Seaman
Toure
Adams
Campbell
Sansom
Merson
Vieira
Rosicky? (maybe too early to say)
Pires
Bergkamp
Henry.
Subs:
Bob Wilson?
O’Leary
Fabregas
Rocastle
Cliff Bastin?
It will be interesting to see if Wenger will play Fabregas and Rosicky together or rotate or tinker with formation or turn Rosicky into a world class winger.
I would have chosen the German squad as it was!
My fave player is definatly Philipp Lahm!
aLLow Philipp Lahm Fan!!!
You really have a good sense! Philipp Lahm can be a great role for us!
Like you,, maybe I would have chosen the Germany squad as it was! But I think,, I would also choose some big names in Chelsea such as Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Joe Cole, Didier Drogba, and Arjen Roben of course! But don’t forget Philipp Lahm is on my very top list!
A lot of my friends have been recommending your site of late, but I never took the time to look initially. Now that I’ve actually Having now read your stuff I have gotta say that it is very, very good and I hope this continues well into the future. Sometimes, it helps me get through a rough day since I use stuff I’m interested in to relax. Your site helps me to do just that. I am truly grateful for that, for sure. If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been a part of this kind of work for? I’m simply wondering because I am seriously considering starting to write myself. But really, if you don’t wish to respond, I do understand, and I wish you the best of luck with your pursuits nonetheless. Your blog is fantastic!
