Portugal 0-1 France

To me the match didnt live up to the hype. The first half saw Portugal having better possession and better chances. The French defense is doing very well in this tournament, they naturalized Portugal’s edge with the shots, which was better than France’s shots. They vital moment came when Henry went down in the box and awarded France, Zidane did well to put his shot in. The first half ended there, as nothing serious happened afterwards.
The second half started well for France. Only to see Portugal find their momentum again and have most of the chances. The defense was always there to break those attacks, or as most of their shots when out. Barthez had a few saves to make, he looked a bit shaky at times.
What a way for Zidane to end his career. Playing in the most important match in football. Few would have said that France will make it to the final, same thing goes to Italy too.
It should be a great final.
Portugal face Germany in the third place match on Saturday, while the final is on Sunday.

For those who will say Portugal deserved to win.. was it going to be through a goalkeeper blunder? yes, that’s probably the only way Portugal would have scored, as I don’t think they would score through a tactical passing game when they managed to cross 35 crosses, and only one being correct.
I agree, they never looked like scoring. Thuram and Gallas did very well today. Plus in the last 15-20 mins the Portugese looked very tired, Figo and Ronaldo looked like they knew that they were not able to score. Even on the offside chance, Barthez did well to get to the ball, even though it was an offiside.
I agree with what you guys are saying. Portugal knew that they were not able to score. And to prove it, you can see that some of the Portugease players were diving in the box quiet a lot.
French defence played well. But Barthez, whome I never liked, almost made a terrible mistake when he fumbled Ronaldo’s free kick. Figo could have scored that header.
A team that is dependant on pauleta is bound to lose!!! i know he is the all time goalscorer for portugal but come on, he is way past his “prime”…Nuno Gomez or Boa Morte would have done better
Congratulations for the French
from being second in their group they managed to beat very strong teams in all their qualifying rounds, which is not the same case for Italy…on the contrary, Italy’s first strong game was against Germany…! myself i wish that Zizo, Henry will do it and win the CUP 
especially for Zizo to finish his career with the cup in his hand…he deserves it.
